  <description>&lt;p&gt;These works are an extension of my interest in early automata and decorative porcelains. They are elaborately mechanical re-stagings of age-old myths and shop-worn schticks.  While deliberately amusing and baroque, they transmit an underlying anxiety about both acculturation and embodiment.&lt;/p&gt;

Wolf Mother (detail) 2000, 4&#8217; x 14&#8221; x 10&#8221;, found toys, cast Aquaresin, brass, wood, motor, fishing line.  As wolf&#8217;s head moves slowly down, tongue comes out to lick baby&#8217;s butt, as wolf head rises, tongue retracts.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
